Nordic Watchmaking

On the 15. of November, I had the huge pleasure of attending the very first watch fair put together by Nordic Watchmaking. But who are they?

First, you might need some background info on the Norwegian watch scene. We have one very big player in Norway, the Facebook group Klokkeriet has over 86000 members and is the primary source of shopping and info for lots of Norwegian collectors. And if you want to touch and feel, you might want to visit the annual Swap Meet, or perhaps Oslo Watch Fair by Bjerke.

Some key players in the industry saw the need for something else. A Nordic collaboration with one goal in mind: spreading Nordic brands to the world. The Trondheim watch fair was step one, next step: The World.

Trondheim is the natural place to begin. A big city that has been deprived of a good watch fair for way too long. Five brands showed up so that anyone interested could see, touch, feel and photograph their watches.

AIGI

Their KSAT models were a huge success and they keep releasing bangers. The Arctic GMT ships out very soon.

Radium

Aluminum watches built in Oslo. Incredibly cool and very local.

DeSanders

Some of the most innovative and unique NH34 watches.

Von Doren

Some of the nicest dress-dials, as well as a couple of really special models.

BRAGDUR

An innovative powerhouse in the Norwegian watch scene.

All in all, the first watch fair by Nordic Watchmaking seemed to be a huge success, and i can’t wait to see the rest of this journey.
